With every start of a new journey comes an exciting story behind it. Envy Coffee started out with three young men and women who left a stable executive job to embark on an entrepreneurship together to realize dreams as avid café-hoppers. This pretty much explains the reason behind a quote left by The Envy Coffee Team which goes, “Have the courage to chase your dreams. Don’t be the one to envy.”
What makes the cup of coffee over at Envy Coffee stand out? Each cup of coffee is freshly grounded, grinded consistently using the Synesso Hydra machine (one of the leading machines in the industry), and finally attended with control over details by the baristas. Hot or iced, you’ll have it!
I also love the effort placed in decorating the small space within the café – quirky signboards and banners, decorative knick-knacks along with Instagram-worthy inspirational quotes.
Check out their full menu for All-Day Breakfasts, Sandwiches, Pastas, Soup, and a whole range of hot and cold beverages from premium teas and milk sodas to their must-have coffees.
In fact, all prices on the menu are Nett, so no worries about GST and service charges! Proceed to the counter to place your orders once you’re done selecting your dishes. A timer device would be given to you, so make yourselves comfortable at your seats before it beeps when food is ready for collection.
Of course, do help yourselves with the iced cold lemon-infused water by the counter, along with various condiments, serviettes and utensils. If you catch sight of adorable trinkets-looking shakers, those are probably salt and pepper in really cute packaging!
Macadamia Latte (Hot – $6.5)
The strong essence of coffee might have overlapped the macadamia flavour, but this delightful cup of Macadamia Latte doesn’t leaves a bitter aftertaste in our mouths even without adding sugar.
Envy Coffee serves a Lunch Set just by adding on an affordable $3.9 for Coffee of the Day, Espresso or Premium Tea and Soup of the day with every Sandwich or Pasta purchased. Matched our Macadamia Latte with a warm bowl of Cream of Mushroom.
Teriyaki Chicken Aglio Olio ($11.9)
A platter of tender and juicy Teriyaki Chicken topping off my favourite type of noodles – saucy Aglio Olio.
Smoked Duck Miso Spaghetti ($11.3)
It was a pity that the smoked duck was rather tough to chew on, but what gave the dish its specialty would be the miso infused in it.
Oreo Cheesecake ($6.0)
Finally, we ended off our meals with a happy piece of Oreo Cheesecake! Not too expensive, yet tastes soft and flavourful with each bite off its cheesecake.
Here is my overall rating of the café.
Would I visit the café again? Of course I would if I were anywhere near the vicinity! Not exactly for the food as the dishes were moderate and fairish, but who wouldn’t love themselves a cup of coffee in a cozy environment with power plugs and free WiFi? Plus, the service was brilliant as I noticed how the friendly staff greet their customers whenever people entered or left the café.
